• 419Eater.com - A website dedicated to debunking scams similar to the famous "Nigerian 419" scam - i.e. identity theft scams aimed at phishing for bank account information.
• J. J. Bittenbinder - a Chicago Police Detective who has dealt with many a case of robery and assault, now gives lectures on personal saftey. I saw one of his lectures in person, and I would encourage anyone to attend a lecture of his or watch his video series.
• Consumer Product Safety Commission has product recalls, etc. on their web site.
• PDFPad - Print calendars, graph paper of all kinds, Sudoku sheets. Generates PDFs you can save off and/or print.

• BrightGuy.com sells flashlights and accessories, including ones from Princeton Tec. There are so many bad crappy flashlights on the market, when you find a good one, buy extras. One that I really like is the Princeton Tech "Blast". It's a diving light, good down to 100m. It is compact, so it doesn't take up too much space in a glove compartment. It is very bright. You can clip it on the visor of a baseball cap (etc.) and turn it into a hands free "headlamp". You can attach it to a lanyard. It's just very versitle and durable. You can also get a red lense for environments where you don't want to mess up your night vision.

• StarWars in ASCIImation - Somebody wrote a file that has all kinds of embedded escape sequences for VT100 terminals and through the ASCII characters it tells the story of StarWars. Someone has figured out a way to display this on a web page (I'm presuming there is a Java based VT100 emulation program running under the web page).
