This is a parachute flare used to illuminate an area.
The round is fired into the air and when it reaches its
maxium altitude (170M) it ejects a magnesium flare on a
parachute. The flare burns for 40 seconds illuminating
an circle 400m in diameter with 45,000 candlepower of light.
